light, always. light is the fastest thing present(and always was) in our universe.

Light is definitely faster than thought. Light travels just under 300 million meters per second, or 186,000 miles per second. If by thought, you mean the speed an electrical impulse travels through a neuron, then it's on the order of tens to hundreds of meters per second, and the speed of the chemical transfer between neurons is much slower.

Thought is faster

The speed of thought is around 300 milliseconds. That's how long it took a volunteer to begin to understand a pictured object. Add to that another 250 to 450 milliseconds to fully comprehend what it was. Total speed of thought: between 550 and 750 milliseconds.

The speed of light is exactly 299,792,458 metres per second.

If one is talking about the brain, then light is faster, as the brain's neural networks of nerve cells that send pulses are really slow. However, if one is talking about telepathy, where thoughts depart our minds and are sent into space or ether, then i really don't know...it's like when one thinks of someone and that person calls, it could be that thought is faster than electromagnetic waves...it's the mind and not the brain then...

Thought. Light has a definite speed of 300,000 km per sec. in vacuum. Thought has no such restrictions. For example, light takes 20.5 years to go to the recently discovered earth like planet, but I can think of it, that is reach it with my thoughts in a fraction of a second.

To know the answer to this question one has to know the time needed for a light wave to reach it’s target and compare it to the time needed for a thought to reach it’s target.

According to Wikipedia “In imperial units, the speed of light is about 186,282 miles per second”

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Speed_of_light

while a nerve impulse for thoughts can travel in about 100 meters per second

That makes light a lot faster than thoughts!

Its absolutely thought . . .

The moment you think of the planet Mars or SUN or Star . . . in a fraction of a second your thought has reached there where as for light it will take few minutes for the same

Speed of light is actually about 186,000 miles per second. The 299,000,000 figure given above is meters per second.

Reminds me of that T-shirt with Big Al as a cop saying "186,000 miles per second. It's not just a good idea, it's the LAW!!"

" A thought came to my mind at the speed of light"

light is unit of measurement and thought is object . see this statement

"car was coming at the spped of 60 Km/hr"
now answer car is faster or 60 km/hr is faster.

This is relative term ....

hope this creates new problems in your mind .

Namaste !
