Not at all. I prefer to do my own thinking.
There are some critics where if you REALLY pay attention to them, you can tell what kind of movies they tend to like and dislike. Then if that critic shares my similar taste, I could see myself basing my decision on seeing a movie on that critics opinion. However, for the most part, I have yet to find a critic that I feel is unbiased.
I see the movies I want to see and I don't let anyone tell me what to think.
Now, if only more people would do this when it comes to music.

It depends on if it's a movie that interests me in the first place. If it's a movie I already want to see, I'll see it regardless.
If it's a movie I'm on the fence about, it may convince me to wait until the DVD is out until I watch it. On the other hand, if it's a movie I didn't really think would be all that wonderful, but I hear tons of critics going nuts over it, I'd probably give it a whirl. I remember not being excited about Sling Blade, but watched it after reading some reviews and it was, obviously, a well made movie.

Hi.I have never relied on critics to tell me if a movie is good or bad. They write so much nonsense trying to analyze parts of a movie looking for faults and in depth meaning .
To me a movie is entertainment .It is not a real tangible object .If i watch a movie and if i don't like it, no problem. I won't look at it again.I do not need a critic to tell me otherwise

Sometimes I do read what the critics say but if one of my friends says it's good or fantastic, I would see it. I absolutely do not care about what the critics think

Sometimes. For most of the movies, I first watch the trailer, read the genre, the critic and wait to see what will it make on the box office. But sometimes, I can inlove in some movie on first look, and with only knowing the genre

i read or listen to what critics have to say about them but seldom listen to them i tend to find out that over half the time they say the movie is bad it turns out to be a very good movie. You can't always go by what others say because they are not you and can not chose if you will like the movie or not

No i woudn't.... Who cares about them? Their opinions on a movie could be different from us. So i would watch a movie and care about my opinion rather than the critics' reviews....

i go with my gut feeling. i rarely listen to critics because i have been scared away from perfectly good movies b/c Ebert panned it. even a piece of crap has some good points.
i do read critic Larry Ratliff b/c he doesn't dis movies just for the heck of it. he generally gives an overview without giving away too much.
but i will always go see a movie that i have been looking forward to no matter who doesn't like it.

i get magazines like empire and dvd review. i like reading the reviews but i always take them with a pinch of salt.
for example we just watched Lucky number slevin and really enjoyed it but empire only gave it 2 stars.
then there are films like fight club and usual suspects that always get rave reviews but i didnt think were all that amazing!
all down to personal preference really - i like to make up my own mind!
