What you want, is a computing cluster/network computing.
This is possible in some cases, as long the software supports clustering.
There are special programms who use other PC's performance.
Many use http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BOINC

If you want to help the medical research you can choose one project and support it by spending your free CPU capabilities.
You would do the world a favour by using the energy your PC consumes effectivily.

But I think for your specific problem there is no solution, as long the software for your job doesn't support network computing.

(There is no software which makes network computing available for usual programs.
That cant work because computer applications work linear, means one result is based on the other, so u cant easily split ip a program to different pcs, you would have to synchronize their results, but this is way to slow over LAN. Its _much_ faster inside the computer, this is why and how multiple CPU systems work)

Hope this explains everything you wanted to know :)

Dont forget to spend you free CPU time to a usefull project

Do you mean remotely controlling a workstation on the network? In that case, use NetMeeting. It's built into Windows. It's also called MeetingPlace. Click Start>Run, then type "conf" in the box (no quotes). There is also Remote Desktop. Click Start>Programs>Accessories>Communications>Remote Desktop.
And there is Remote Assistance, but that is not as efficient as the others. Using DOS, type the command TELNET, followed by 1 space, then the IP address of the computer you want to access. Enjoy!

Although research is going on in "job delegation" towards helping you out in future... currently theres no mechanism/program at place to get your job done the way you want it...

For the time and hassle, you will be better off just use one PC and wait for it, its no simple task to delegate tasks to other machines.
