I would think that violating marriage with abuse, rape or cheating is much more disrepectful than divorce. I think most marriages that end in divorce are truly over long before the paperwork was done.

I can only speak from personal experience. And I'll give you the abridged version or I'll be here all day! Basically things started to go downhill after my second son was born. He began to take less and less interest in me and the kids, and devoted most of his time to the computer, work and going to the pub. This was just over five years ago. He wasn't interested in changing at all, and eventually it got to a point where he wouldn't even come with us when the boys had days out on their birthdays, which in my eyes is pretty much unforgiveable. In November last year he lost his job. He made no effort to find anything else, and refused to sign on, so we were living on my wages alone, which isn't nearly enough to support a family of four. He also lied to me about having another job to go to, and carried on this lie for two weeks before he admitted he had nothing. While I was working he was still sitting at home all day playing some silly game on his computer. He didn't help with the housework, the cooking, the shopping, the kids or anything. It was all left up to me. In February I finally decided I'd had enough and he left. There is no way that we will ever be together again. We will be divorced by christmas.

There ARE MANY good reasons for getting a divorce. But I would believe that a good reason for a divorce is ANY KIND of ABUSE. Be it physical, verbal, or mental. There ARE many but I would put the above listed as my reasons for divorce. I do believe that most reasons can be worked out even if it means counseling. BUT abuse is bad and I'm not sure something like abuse deserves to be forgiven

Other than the above (cheating, men tall or physical abuse) also a good reason for a divorce is that you stopped loving him. Then also not respecting you, molesting the children, not giving support.......

sometimes we have to do the things that does not make any sense to other people but it makes a WHOLE LOT OF SENSE to us.and when we feel strongly about it ,then by all means ;follow your heart and do what you think is best for you!even if it may sound absurd like asking for a divorce or separation...not everything has a certain logical reason to it.life is funny in that way...

I believe the only reason for divorce would be adultery, or abuse, and addictions. People should marry forever and all other problems can and should be worked out. Even adultery can be forgiven and survived, once.

I would have to say "physical or verbal abuse". Otherwise, I would stick around and figure it out through counseling. When kids are involved, "divorce" seems to be a more "difficult" option because it can not only "drain" you emotionally, but financially, it costs you a fortune!!!!

Beats the crap out of a murder rap to my way of thinking. If my mother hadn't called a lawyer for a divorce, she assuredly would have had to call one in my behalf as we did not have an OJ bankroll.
