No, Tim Duncan can't really be stopped short of getting him into foul trouble. The Jazz did a really good job of stripping the ball out of his hands. That's Timmy's achilles heel: his grip is soft. The most the Pistons can do is minimize his effectiveness by getting him into foul trouble. Even then, they still have to deal with a very good team led by Ginobili and Parker.

First of all, the Spurs defense is better than the Piston's defense and Duncan will definately not be contained by Detroit's so called "defense" that the Spurs have faced many times in the past, just look at the '05 season Finals, was Duncan or any of the other Spurs players contained then?!?!?! I think that Detroit's player's are the one's that need to be worried about being contained by the Spurs defense!

There is some trick to getting TD off his game that occasionally happens and his fg% plummets. I don't know what it is - or if its even possible this year. Spurs fans hate to see it but sometimes he just gets cold. Of course, we have not really seen it this year.......

I agree with the guy who brought up Ben Wallace.
That was wallace at his peak too.
When Shaq calls you the best defender in the league - you got serious defensive skills. And even Big Ben could not "stop" Duncan.....

It's going to be a sweet series - likely goes all the way to seven games.

A lot of people said that Boozer was going to shut Duncan down and send him home in shame and you see how that's turning out. I honestly don't think Wallace will have any better luck.

Obvious that detriot will win its series? They have played from behind in every game against Cleveland.

To answer the question as stated, no detriot will not contain Duncan and Co.

no. nobody really stops Duncan. you can slow him down for a game, maybe even two. but that's about it.

I'm a Detroit fan. and even I know that guy can't be contained.

and it would probably be Rasheed guarding him, and Dale Davis off the bench.

No, plain and simple.... let's not forget that Duncan has Manu, Horry, Parker, Bowen, Finley, Oberto etc. etc. etc.
