I work nights. I come home and it's dark here in the middle of the forest. Last night I got out of my car to walk the few yards to the house, close by, I heard a loud cracking sound...a branch had snapped in two piece's. A squirrel or rabbit never would have broken a branch. The sound stopped me in my tracks. It has to be big. This sucks. I couldn't see anything. My eyes weren't adjusted yet. I'm ten feet from the front door. Adrenaline pump! I felt my heart pounding in my chest...my God! Please God don't let this be a bear! If I ran for the front door, would I make it there before this animal, which is only a few feet away from me...I heard a loud rustling of leaves...it was almost on top of me. No humans should ever be out here...I was very frightened, confused as to what to do, stand still or run? My heart was in my throat, my legs were rubber, my brain was racing...when a white tailed deer ran across my path in the open area between the trees. Nature! Amazing what we feel when confronted in the dark with other natural creatures. Wow! I could have reached out and plucked the ticks off of the deer. That's amazing.

Last week when I looked up into a clear mid-morning blue sky and saw a quarter moon shining. I knew it was whizzing around the earth once every month, but it just hung there appearing motionless 250,000 miles from earth. Think of all the life on earth for eons and eons that have gazed at the moon. I guess we take it for granted, but every once in a while I'm amazed at the eternity of the heavens and the earth.

All the time here at my home in the country. I went out to walk the dog and some robins flew at us, but didn't really hurt us. They were squawking loudly. Then I noticed the baby on the ground they were trying to distract us from, a little one just learning to fly. It was sooo sweet!

And so many were protecting it... much more than the usual 2 parents! How odd! Never saw that before.

It's hard to say, nature amazes me all the time!^_^
That's why I joined the Nature Lovers Club.
That's why I walked around the park everyday, to value the trees around me wjile they're still around. They will be cut down soon.
I often watched programmes like Animal Planet and Discovery. It amazes me to see plants especially flowers grow...

everything about nature amazes me. Squid, platypus, Caterpillars turning into butterflys, even the moon. The last time was today when I saw a tree in full blossom.

gotta go with the majority on this one. i am amazed every single day. from the glorious colors of a sunrise (and sunset) to the fact that my cherry tree in the front yard blooms every year (without another cherry tree around for miles) to the fact that no matter how badly i abuse my body, it seems to come back every time. (overeating mostly. no alcohol, no tobacco.)

Just about every day ... yesterday I was dusting and discovered a gecko sitting in a fancy bowl I have on a shelf in the corner. Today I went to see if it was still in there, and not only is it still there, but it's a she and now she's laid two tiny eggs in there with her.

Everyday. Every morning when I wake up and see my girls I am amazed.

The times that nature really wowed me and astounded me was when I gave birth to my children.
