My husband and I had two accounts. One, was with myself on there with him and then I had one with my name on it. my name alone.
We used our account with both of our names for bills, vacationing, and other things that require both of our consents.
The second account was an account that I use for shopping and nails, hair, pedi's, well the usually girl stuff. After 8 years of argueing and trying to figure out the monies, this was the solution. This solved a lot of where did this go or that go and we dont have the money for this.. blah blah blah.. just basically gave myself an allowance for lack of better choice of words.

I Don't share my car and don't share my money or my man. Everything else is fair game.
If you are living with a man...no way!! under no circumstances!
If you are married to the man, each of you should have a separate account and a joint account to pay bills from. It will only come in handy if you two split to have your own savings coming from your earnings.
It is hard enough to regulate your own money, rather than have to endure someone else's bad habits with money. I refuse to even persue the idea.

I don't share one with my husband. I think situations are different, however. Some people combine monies, and it makes things easier. Some people have more problems when the other harps on the money in and out of the account.
My husband and I are not like that, but separate accounts is just easier right now.
