True story, not about me.

Back in 1986, two friends of mine, a couple, made a personal wager on the nightly outcome of Red Sox games. If the Sox won, he got a kiss for every run they won by (5-3, two kisses). If they lost, she got kisses by the same formula. They were happy.

Then one night in August, the Sox destroyed the Indians, 24-5. Neither one wanted to put THAT much effort into kissing the other, either giving or receiving. They'd be dead. So they changed it to one kiss per victory or loss. And they were happy.

Depending on how snuggly you and the GF are, you might consider adopting something similar regarding Red Sox and Yankees games, and when they go head-to-head, come up with something extra-special. Combine your baseball fandom with your relationship and don't get distracted by petty rivalry.

(Note, it wasn't really about kisses, but that's the polite way to put it in this forum.)

first of all, is she really a yankee fan, or just a wannabe that looks at the standings once a month. next, it can't possibly be worth it. I only look at two games a day: the sox game, and whoever is playing the yanks. If you are a true fan, you know that when the yankees lose, you get just as much pleasure as when the sox win. Its probably not gonna work out anyway, so just nail a couple of her friends and be done with it!! Seriously, almost anything can be worked out, but this is more serious than politics, more serious than religion, even more serious than cats vs. dogs. This is , if you believe ESPN, the ultimate rivalry in all of sports. I couldn't do it, and you shouldn't try.

Just learn to deal with it, and rub it in her face when the Sox win or the Yanks lose . I'm a Cub fan and my girlfriend and all of her family are Cardinal fans. You should have seen the look on her dads face the first time I went to pick her up wearing a Cubs shirt. It was like the movie Look Who's Coming To Dinner.

expensive yanksuk, i think of listening to crimson Sox followers provide props to Joe Torre says lots on the subject of the classification that this guy reflects. i like how he refused to examine his old communities to a minimum of one yet another- and how he regarded the choose of success interior the submit-season dating each and all of the some time past to 1996. It tell syou how lots he thinks of his participant and the sport. As a Dodger fan- i'm secretly hoping that L.A. could make a flow for him and do away with (a former Boston supervisor- Grady Little). i think of you additionally can see a domino result- with Torre leaving you additionally can see some others flow away or retire besides. As i became watching -- i think of extra desirable than the fat payroll you should grant Torre a great sort of credit for the Yankees fulfillment over the years. i think of he did a great job this twelve months- thinking how battered his pitching team became- and that i think of they ran out of gas and via this sequence thye had no pitching (different than a great back in time game 2 from Pettite). Mariano isn't a similar Mariano from years previous- and the Yankees have been given so a great way as they could flow with this team. I could desire to confess as a NL guy the ALCS will on no account be a similar devoid of the Sox and Yankees. stable success to the Sox- cuz those Indians are enormously no longer hassle-free with their a million-2 pitching punch and well timed hitting. Kindly, Nickster

Maybe since the Red Sox are doing so good, and the Yankees suck, maybe you can convert her to the Red Sox. Try to take her to Fenway Park.

But, even if she doesn't you both could still have fun with it. I wish my girlfriend liked baseball, period. I wouldn't care what team she liked as long as she was interested in the games.

There's a lot of other things in the world to talk about besides baseball, so i say stick it out for a while. Im a huge Dodgers fan and my girlfriend was raised a Giants fan, so we tend to get into arguments from time to time over baseball, but we've been together 2 years. It bothered me at first, but when you're sittin above 'em in the standings, (Boston's lookin pretty good) it makes the trash talking that much easier!

This is a very typical scenario given the close proximity of the two cities and the amount of new Yorkers that go to college or university in Boston. It will probably be a good thing for your relationship just enjoy the rivalry especially now that the yanks really do suck and she cant chastise you much.

It's the opposite with me. I'm a die hard Yankees fan and my girlfriend loves the Dread Sux. I live in Massachusetts but I grew up in NYC.

dump her!!! Seriously it's gonna end up happening anyway. I'm a Giants fan and I could'nt date a dodgers fan. I really could'nt unless she's a Latina Goddess; then I would say suck it up and talk alotta shite, because the yanks suck and the red sox are going to the series against the other NY team unless my Giants pull sum serious shite off!!!!
