Do we share common traits with our ancient ancestors?

Do modern Greeks share the characters of ancient Greeks?
Egyptians ---> Pharaohs?
Swedes, Norwegians, Danes ---> Vikings?
Italians ---> Romans?
Iranians ---> Persians?

Did the modern people inherit the character of the old?
For instance, ancient Greeks used to take Leisure very seriously.Today they still do. They're very fun.

I believe so. We are all so much more primative than we like to admit. Seems like we keep evolving...but it seems for the worst...

yes we do. even though modern society has placed a veneer of civilization on modern people we still are basically what our ancestors were.
