If a person has a friend ask a question, answers that question, then has ten or more friends rate that answer as a best answer, is it really a best answer? Doesn't that sort of make this simply a forum for that individuals point of view rather than a thoughtful analysis of issues?

who cares...i answer questions for fun or because i might really be able to help someone in areas that i am particularly knowledgable in...the whole points thing is to keep people coming on here....so yahoo can have more add space bought...they have to keep people coming back....alot of people are interested in the points...are the points really relevant? if they are, then you are a tool for yahoo...ha ha ha

1. doubtful anybody on here has 10 friends
2. Whould your friends waste thier time to vote?
3. what would motivate you/them to bother?
4. most questions have already been answered and can be searched , instead of asking new questions.

Absolutely.......Besides, everyone knows that the ONLY fair way to rate answers is by who is the best lookin'. LOL

But who cares about the points any more? I don't.
