About 25 when I met him. Saw him at church, he was in from another city visiting his brother, who was our parish priest. I had seen him from the choir loft and asked around as to who he was (stranger in town!). Well, my dad was the Deacon and often he and my mom would have the priest over for lunch after the Liturgy, and that day they invited both our priest and his brother. So, after lunch, the men were in the living room, and my mom and I were in the kitchen, and my very conservative mother DARED me to ask him out. Well, I did - went right into the living room and did so (he could hardly say no in front of my dad and his older brother!), so we went to a movie and out for a meal after. He was from another city, and I was just moving farther away to take a new job teaching, but I had been dating another guy through this time. In the interim over the next year, my now-husband moved to my hometown, and I'd see him for coffee every once in a while when I went to see my parents.
That next summer, my bf came home from Europe where he was going to university, and my husband went to see him to find out if he was really serious about me - because if he wasn't, my husband wanted to date me. So we mutually parted, and I dated my husband for two years before we got married. We've been married almost 18 years, and even though our getting together story here seems long, it was even more complex!

We're both in the Army. We met during a field exercise. He came up and asked me two very innocent questions and walked away. He asked me to shoot pool with him the next day. We never officially dated but we claimed each other. We had a mutual understanding that we weren't seeing anyone else. Got married a year later while on leave from Iraq. I was 23 and he was 25.

We met at a Coffee Shop that was owned by some mutual friends when we were 19.
My best friend went up & started talking to my wife & her best friend. I thought she (my wife) was attractive, but kinda stayed back & let my bumbling friend be the canary. When my wife & her friend were laughing, I joined them. We made it a regular thing to meet there (my friend, her friend, and us) from then on. 6 months later, we wed while on a month-long camping trip across the U.S. We were engaged for 3 hours, and we hitched at the Little White Chapel Drive-Thru on 7/4/99 at 2:00am. Our son was born exactly 7 years, 2 months, and 29 days later (9/3/06).

I was 20 and he was 22. We hung out with the same group of people that knew eachother in the bar scene. We frequented the same bars and saw eachother almost every weekend. I would often sit at his table, smoke his cigarettes, talk and drink with him all night. We just clicked on a level that made sense to us even though I was pessimistic about love and completely against the idea of a serious relationship especially marriage, he was too, but that idea came later. One night he asked for my number even though he had a girlfriend and I had a casual fling at the time I gave him my number. It took him about a month to call and then he came over. He said, "I think I broke up with my girlfriend" and I laughed. I invited him over for the evening. We talked, did some shrooms and hung out and nothing happened because I figured we were just going to be friends because of the girlfriend situation. The next weekend we saw eachother at the bar and we hooked up. He immediately dropped the girlfriend, but it took her awhile to clue in, which was rather amusing because it was around Valentine's and she'd call him when we were hanging out. I dropped the fling without a problem. Even though he called me and we would hang out and he'd spend the night at my place a lot after that, I refused to call him my boyfriend for a few months, but eventually I warmed up to the idea of having a serious relationship.

We met when I was 16 - we were friends for a few years, and went out as friends when he was in freshman year of college and I was a senior in high school. We realized we had feelings for each other, started dating, and eventually got married. Our 5th wedding anniversary is this summer.
We met working at McDonalds. ;)
