Its best to find a good driving school just book a hour lesson lessonj. gthis will give you an idea on where to go next.. Explain that you are nervous Do not try to hard Its normal to jump and jerk at first if you let it bug you it will get worse> my most dificuli students were perfectionists.. Thats how i met Lollita,, she traded her learners licence for a marriage licence almost thity years ago PS its not bad to be a perfection ist unless it bugs you

I taught myself to drive a stick shift, I was 20 years old, and had been driving for about a year. Take off in1st gear, quickly shift to 2nd, drive in 3rd or 4th at all times, put the car out of gear at stop signs and red lights or you will stall the car. Be careful, you could tear up the transmission, but you should learn quickly, if you already know how to drive.

I wouldn't recommend trying to teach yourself, you'll end up doing damage to the car trying to do that. I'll teach you right now!
1. Put your foot on the pedal all the way to the left and press down hard, then turn the key to start the car.
2. To back out of the driveway, pull the stick all the way to the right and and pull down. Now you're in reverse.
3. Very slowly let off of the pedal to the left while slowly pressing the pedal all the way to the right. (You should be backing up)
4.To go forward simply put the stick all the way to the left and push it up (1st gear) This must be done with the pedal to the right all the way down.
5. Again Very slowly let off of the pedal to the left while slowly pressing the pedal all the way to the right. (You should be moving forward)
6. Everytime you want to go faster, press down the pedal to the left and change the gears! To stop, press down the pedal to the left and then press the pedal in the middle slowly.
Hmm........maybe you should get a driving instructor. Lol
-Good luck Chicka!

It's easier having someone teach you! Back when I took drivers Ed at 15 (many moons ago, lol) we learned on stick shifts! Oh the good old days! Get someone to teach you. There's gotta be someone!
