I'm thinking hard here. Cheap vodka got 20 cents cheaper? That's all I can think of, but of course my local Arab liquor store owner has a crush on me, so also sells me a carton of cigarettes for $30. That might be why. One thing for sure is, though, that I can tell you, is that the European Socialist governments are paying a heck of a lot more for gas than we are. Is that enough said? No, OPEC is overcharging everyone for gas. Let's kick their azzes! Enough said now!

The problem is not that gas prices are rising, the problem is the rate of the increase. from 1988 until 2001, there was maybe a $.20 increase in the price of regular unleaded. the price of regular gasoline has tripled (in some places more than that) over the past 6 years. That is why everyone is complaining. The drastic increase in gas prices has affected everything you buy because manufacturers are having to pay more to deliver their products, so they pass that increase onto the consumers. When gas prices fall, you will notice that grocery prices fall also.

Many technological products have gone down in price. Computers and such; the prices on new technology aren't all that high for long. As anyone who has taken any economics classes know. Prices are mostly driven by supply and demand. Even with high gas prices, people will still have to buy it. Our demand is too great to give them any reason to lower the price. Not that I like it but........

Since the entire economy depends on fuel, inflation will be directly affected by gas prices. With little exception, the only things that will cost less will be technology.

When fuel prices go up, so does everything else.

Financing for new vehicles. 0% or 1.9% for 60 months is not uncommon now. I think mostly the reason though is because the price of gas is so high they're not selling as many new vehicles as they'd like to.

You make a good point, however they are getting very high. I blame clinton for not letting us drill in Alaska. Even Alaska wants us to drill for oil there.....
