I reformat my PC recently and took the opportunity to upgrade it to WIN XP II instead of WIN XP I, but the sound card, modem & CD-RW are not working at all, why is that? Can i find the drivers in my PC?

When you reformatted your hard drive, you erased all the drivers. After a clean install of Win XP, you should immediately install the motherboard chipset drivers, then the graphics card driver, sound card driver, modem driver, etc. Then you can install the softwares like the CD or DVD burning software, etc.

This procedure worked for me flawlessly on various laptops and desktops.

I think when you format it ,it lost all the drivers of the devices such as soundcard, modem etc. but if you have the emergency CD you can install it and make it back as it is working before.
And another thing install the software you got from Motherboard CD And Contact the website for more advanced latest drivers. And Check the Hardware if you done any mistake.
