I went for an early scan at about 10 weeks to discover we were expecting twins, I am going for another scan on Thursday when I will be about 12 weeks.
I was just wondering if I would feel movement from the babies earlier than a singleton pregnancy, or if it will be about the same time.
I was also wondering how much of a bump I could have at the moment, do I expect my tummy to get bigger much faster than a singleton pregnancy or will it ease me into it gently.
I am not an inexperienced mum, I already have 5 children, but they were all single births.
This is totally new territory for me and I have to say I am extremely anxious about the safety of the babies, mainly due to the fact that we lost a baby at 12 weeks last december, so as you can imagine I am examining every aspect, and worrying about it!
Any helpful advice would be much appreciated.
Cheers.

You will feel the movements of the babies around the same time, maybe even a little later than usual due to the fact that twins are usually smaller. In my case, I felt them a little later anyways. And you can definitely expect to get bigger faster with 2 in there!! I couldn't believe how fast I started showing. Before I found out we were having twins I was measuring at like 4 weeks later than I actually was so it's a pretty big difference. Good luck to you. Happy and healthy 9 months to you

I was also LARGER then normal. (my uterus) they sent me in at 15 weeks to see if it was twins. I was bigger then a singleton. But I only gained good weight (50). I felt movement prolly around 12 weeks but didn't know what it was (thought it was gas or something).

The best thing I can tell you is God gave you a special gift. He gave it to you because he knew you could handle it.

If your with twins prepare for the NICU. its not a horrible place. I actually can say I had the best nicu ever. See if you can take a tour of it before hand this will help you to cope. my girls were there for 19 days and were born 6 weeks earlier. But they never needed help to breath. The only assistance they needed was the feeding tube because singletons learn to suck in the womb at 36 weeks.

there are some great twin books out there and also good preemie books. best of luck let me know if I can be of further help.

YOu won't feel the flutter earlier, you will feel more flutters.
When one baby moves the other might. One might be sleeping while the other is sleepig. You will feel a double batch of kicks and elbows. It will be twice the joy

Take good care of yourself. Eat healthy. Please drink plenty of wather, get lots of sleep and take your vitimines. Take walks or whatever exercise your body is used to doing.

You will get the baby bump sooner and you will most likely bigger then with a single baby.

Remember you will have double the joy.

when my mum had twins her stomache was actually exactly the same size as when she had me by myself, and i was a little baby. You could only tell she had pregnant belly after 6 months, and even then, people couldnt believe it was going to be twins! but then my friend had a massive belly that stuck out like crazy after 4months. so it all depends.

dont stress, just do what your doctor tells you to do and you should be fine. twins just means two of them. it doesnt mean they are at a higher danger risk!

good luck and God bless you with your wonderful double delight! twins are fun! :-)
