Hello CMB,

If I recall correctly, the clothing under the kilt had much to do with ancient tradition. After all, boxers and briefs had to be invented at some point and I'm fairly sure the kilt predates underwear.

The tradition, as I understand it, is that when the monarch is a king, the Scots go commando under the kilt. When the monarch is a queen, underwear is worn.

Interesting question. If warriors chose not to wear undies and allowed the delicates to swing in the breeze and be vulnerable to very sharp swords and so forth when the baddies attacked, well... how very macho of them.

In that case, I think I'd prefer cast iron undies. LOL

Warmly,
Tara

I'm not Scottish, but if I was then I'd wear it without underwear because underwear would be unnecessary, and it would feel better that way.
