Just watched the Miss Universe pageant. Why did those idiots boo USA when called for her final answer?

Supposedly, the Hispanics in the audience were booing poor Miss USA due to the "unfair" treatment of illegal immigrants in the US. The fact that she has absolutely nothing to do with immigration or what the US does about it makes it even funnier because they felt they had to turn a PAGENT into a political event!

Although that is what has been posted in the news...I actually believe they were upset that Miss Mexico didn't make it to the top 5...

It was all political. I am sure the Mexicans want the US to open the borders for any and all to immigrate freely. They do not have the capability to make their own country a modern one where its citizens want to stay. Many in the audience do not like Americans in other countries. Many feel that America gets their nose in other countries business too much, but fail to recall how much money the United States GIVES (not loans) to them. If they hate America so much, they shouldn't accept the money and stand on their own two feet. When they get invaded by another country or have a ruthless dicatator take over militarily, they seem to LOVE the United States. If the United States kept all of its money and did not help keep other countries stable, the world would hate them. When the United States tries to help, it is never enough and they want more. Regardless, the United States can't and never will 'win' their favor. It is amazing how 'terrible' the United States is only to have MASSES of people doing whatever they can to make to America.

mexicans are rude. its good that US has strict immigration policies because they will be able to minimize the mixing of good genes with bad genes.

i think the winner should be brazil or usa. they have the best answers. i'm just wondering why japan won. i think she should be the 4th runner up. i have read some commentaries that japanese endorsements and sponsorships might have the final say on the pageant. ooops.

i think it should be miss brazil, no doubt. i have miss japan's answer's dancing blah blah blah. is that what it takes to be a miss universe? nah. the worst asnwer i have ever heard.

im from asia, spec from the phils. but i think brazil should have won. but im happy miss philippines got the miss photogenic award again. ha ha

Kudos on the answerer above me, she was booed because the Mexicans feltthat America wasn't being fair to Mexico when it comes to immigration. They had it planned out from the time the whole damn show started. I thought this was thought provoking:



TRY THIS IN MEXICO

• Enter Mexico illegally. Never mind immigration quotas, visas, international law, or any of that nonsense.

• Once there, demand that the local government provide free medical care for you and your entire family.

• Demand bilingual nurses and doctors.

• Demand free bilingual local government forms, bulletins, etc. Procreate abundantly.

• Deflect any criticism of this allegedly irresponsible reproductive behavior with, "It is a cultural U.S.A. thing. You would not understand, pal."

• Keep your American identity strong. Fly Old Glory from your rooftop, or proudly display it in your front window or on your car bumper.

• Speak only English at home and in public and insist that your children do likewise.

• Demand classes on American culture in the Mexican school system.

• Demand a local Mexican driver license. This will afford other legal rights and will go far to legitimize your unauthorized, illegal, presence in Mexico.

• Drive around with no liability insurance and ignore local traffic laws.

• Insist that local Mexican law enforcement teach English to all its officers.

Good luck! You'll be demanding for the rest of time or soon be dead. Because it will never happen. It will not happen in Mexico or any other country in the world except right here in the United States. Land of the naive!

Iam from the USA.
This whole "princess pageant" is a relic that needs the axe ,but if you follow this type of thing maybe you like lemmings,Paris Hilton and the like. It gave the world an opportunity to help see the light of day, so,... I will let it pass this time. I'm happy that Mexico was free enough to protest the pageants bias leaning towards USA. Thanks Mexico! We here in the USA are dragging our feet on the inevitable. The boos weren't that bad or long . Just my solitary opinion.
"If you are born beautiful , this gives you rights to be a superstar queen and everyone else is chopped liver?". Generally ,I wouldn't attend or watch such a spectacle in my free time .What a shameful ritual! celebrating a minority of women who look starved.It is objectification to call these few as the mold for beauty. How about getting on TV or public by deeds and hardwork.Shallow would be giving credit for too much depth in these shows.The media who are government lapdogs, filter truth and sugarcoat and sanitize news to pay off the advertisers and corporations who run the governments of the world to brainwash and indoctrinate the masses instead of broadcasting in the publics best interest by showing substancial topics, since the airwaves really belong to the people,not the government.
We are earthlings and we all deserve rights to betterment .We owe Mexico money in loans and should reciprocate by offering Mexican people jobs in return instead of a few families in Mexico instead of giving it to the greedy.Just like our giving our control to the Bush crime family ,minions and underlings.
I have been through Mexico and I see that they are just like People in the USA.The poor try to take care of their families,just like here. Everyone enjoys the best of their past. The Mexican corporations there rule the government just like here in the USA. Our companies rob Mexico of natural resourses in behind the scenes deals between our government. We send our needed jobs to Mexico and the Mexicans work with less protections and gain than we have.We have more poor everyday while the economy is based on what the wealthy is making.The wealthy send jobs overseas while the govenment protects these people. We will soon lose our job protections as well. Not every Mexican Boo's us here just like not every one is a talking point-narrow minded parrot-racist territorial animal like "red86bmore" who should never breed.Our policies are what they booed.We had it coming and should have been more prepared.Do we only watch American Idol and work 105+ hours a week for the investors ignoring the truth around us ?The truth hurts .
Dissent is good to keep us in check. The world watches everything. The Mexicans wouldn't be coming here if there were work and security available at home.We had it so good because they have it so bad.Our corrupt government, ran by the top of the chains set up the poverty in Mexico.The Mexicans are not welcome because of our darned cultural purity system.There is enough room and riches to go around, in the world.Every one needs medical care, everyone needs to be understood ,which can't be attained in a country with poor schools made repressive By our intertwined systems.I have seen Families in the Midwest with 6-8 or more children. why? because Women decide their own reproductive decisions in places like California not men usually and because of religion in the misogynistic bible belt and macho paternal and religious controls in Mexico.We need to be more inclusive so that we can make room for their culture.Get rid of these right winged hogs in charge.Get out of Iraq where we fight and waste money to win a misguided war against terrorism in a country uncapable of reprisal.We give no-bid contracts to companies that move over seas like Haliburton,to avoid taxation after fleecing my money so that we can have presence ,rob oil and influence by imposing our ideals at the end of gunpoint.We privatize our policing agencies creating organizations like ICE and prison mills .
Democracy is not unchecked imperialistic capitolism.Share the wealth with Mexico so that people would come here to visit more or move if they liked it better and could find decent gainful employment wherever.It is our problem globally to make things better with our neighbors.Who cares which flag you wave or which symbol you wear around your neck it's all the same. I don't care.Caring too much is for extremists.America needs more languages.This is my version of patriotism.I am a white blonde haired blue eyed human.These are signs of the times .Maybe we should self reflect.I hope we heed the boos and regain our image and stability.Do Americans need to control and win everything? Even if you don't agree with everything you are still welcome by me because my country should be full of differences, Mexican,princesses or other.I am mainstream .I have faith and pride that the USA will come around out of the dark.

I think it's morally wrong for the part of the audience who booed Miss USA because it shows that those people have no respect. Those who booed USA (which ever country they are from) do not deserve the right to have a delegate from their country to represent them because they have already spoken for themselves to be rude and disrespectful. The delegates from these countries who booed should just walk away as her people have already spoken for themselves to be disrespectful.
The people who booed are actually not shaming anyone else but themselves and their own representative delegates.

Yeah, I didn't feel that it was fair for her to be booed. I know I wouldn't have liked it. I sure hope it was not because she fell. She's a beautiful and intelligent girl. She didn't deserve to be booed.
