..can a man feel open enough to talk about his own, with his new partner, but when she tries to do the same he does not want to hear any of it? Like he doesn't want to know any names of her past partners or in general anything at all about her past that involves her being with anyone, even though he knows that the partner list is very short (4 people) Everytime it is brought up...he says, I don't want to hear it.

i think its because when we hear the "list" we get visuals... and no man wants to visualize the girl he loves being ravished by any other man... its all in the visuals... remember, guys have graphic imaginations!

you have a good point there.i don't know why men are like that.
its like if a man sleeps with a numerous amount of woman in one night,"he is the man"but if a girl does it she is a "W H O R E" or a "S L U T".....
i just don't get it.
i think its good to know were your new partner has been,you never know if that person has some kind of disease and you end up getting it.your partner does not have to know the details of that previous relationship.
maybe tell him how you feel and tell him you feel its unfair that its OK for him to talk about it but you can not.

A lot of guys still want a virgin I guess, so if they don't know about your past, they feel better. A lot of it still has double standards. Something I could never figure out is why is a guy who sleeps around called a swinging bachelor, or a real stud, yet when a woman wants to sleep around, she gets labeled all kinds of derogatory names? It just doesn't make any sense to me.

NO. It's not a good idea at all. My boyfriend told me some things that I could care less about and he wanted to know about me in turn & the ****** uses it against me now! the f-er!

I wouldn't push it, but you do need to keep in mind when you bed down with your partner your also bedding down everyone they've been to bed with !! Be safe, be sure.
