My Life

As I look at my life and what it has come to be.
The mess that I have in front of me.
The hopes I had, my dreams are burning out.
My conscious reaction is to scream and shout.
But I hold on- I have come too far,
I have to deal with realities that are,
Not the best,
But none the less,
They are mine,
And it is my option to make my life just fine,
Oh yes, you see, the choice is in me.
To do with my life as I damn well please.
So make no mistake take another look,
My life that I put in front of you as an open book,
Has been my adventure.
My journey through life’s tenure.
I will renew myself,
My physical, emotional, and mental health.
So now I see my life as something else.
Not a mess, but a wealth,
Of people places times and things,
That make us all such unique human beings.

Heartfelt emotions captured in the written word.
Kudos to you for changing your perspective and resolving to accept your life, not as a burden, but as a gift.
Continue to get it down in writing, and
maybe join a poet´s club to discover how to protect your originals.

I think you may appreciate it.

I think this is very good! I read it and put my own meaning to it on my life, my own issues. But all the same you have great talents! No matter what anyone else says.

I like the sense of resignation after "My journey through life’s tenure" and determined resolution that "I will renew myself."

Outstanding! This is the first poem I've seen on Y!A that I've complimented. Be sure you copyright it before somebody steals it.
