Look at others who have done it. If I'm trying to inspire myself to paint then I go to an art gallery, watch a movie about an artist (like Frida about Frida Kahlo), look at works by my favourite artists. Then I start to hunger for painting. Feed your mind with ideas & images of what you want to do & it makes you want to do it.
I write songs as well. They are usually inspired by my own experiences & emotions. I find that when I'm sad or angry, the songs come flooding out on their own. It's more difficult to write when I'm happy. I find that going out & seeing other songwriters inspires me. As well as listening to music on the radio.
Surround yourself with the things you love. Feed your mind & soul & then inspiration will come.
Also, go for a walk, get close to nature. Getting some fresh air & seeing the beauty of the world is great inspiration no matter what your passion is. Also, listen to classical music. It lifts your soul. Studies show it actually boosts intelligence as well. It opens up your mind.
Positive affirmations or a mantra like "I can do it! I am enthusiastic, energetic & eager to work" may help as well. But I think you have to do something more concrete. Take positive action rather than just thinking about it. Whatever it is you want to do, take one small step toward it. So if you want to be a painter, buy the canvas & paint & have it ready. If you want to be a chef, take cooking classes. Whatever your passion is, do something concrete to work toward it everyday. Once you start living with passion, inspiration flows from you like water...
Whatever it is that you need to do, get motivated by thinking about the end result. Think of how happy you'll be when it's done. Then do it!
Good luck.

I've tried so many things to try and inspire myself and after the excitement wore off, I was back at what seemed the beginning.
I then heard about MindMovies. You can make your own or buy a kit if you don't have any software to make it.
I combined inspiring qoutes and pics to my favorite music.
It really is so powerful. It influences my subconscious and I notice I am drawn to more easily make positive changes in my life.
You can do it too! Or you can use mine. I made mine general but powerful so I could share it,.
I will post the link to it and a place that sells the kits.
BE TRUE TO YOUR SPIRIT!!!!

I think primarily, to inspire yourself. It is a Multi Tiered, triangle.
The top of the triangle, is WHAT YOU WANT.
As you proceed, down the Each Tier. You are able to list, all the Hindrances to accomplishing What You Want
The Basis of the Triangle, is the widest and the most difficult to step over. YOU HAVE TO WANT, more then anything WHAT YOU WANT.
If you can't form that adjendure, Mentally. Simply sit down, and draw it out-but be prepared to make adjustments along the way

Seeking inspiration overlooks one important detail. When you seek inspiration, you are likely not wanting to do whatever it is that you are thinking is important. It is likely that you are wanting to do something else other than the thing that is important. Philosophers are notorious for wanting to be alone and wanting to think -- obstacles to work and study.
You could try to force yourself, reward yourself, or otherwise manipulate yourself into doing these things. Or, you can reassess how important these things really are in your life.
People who force themselves to do that which they do not want to do will often find they become bitter and resentful.

you seem to have motivational problems...much like myself
i cant seem to find motivation to study or do anything productive, i think it is because people like us weigh the present as being more important to the future, which is good b/c you will nvr be in the future

i try to spend more time with god. i mean usually life is always so boring and grim but for me it is not all that bad cos i have my stories and poems to write. i listen to music to lighten up. i think happy thoughts. it is all in your head. life is what you make of it so if you can't enjoy the simplicity of it you are sure to feel down and think it is grim. anyways i hope i have answered your question.

if i feel that some thing is important that feeling itself is my inspiration to do it. that feeling is really the message of the force from which we all come from. if we are able to discard ego we will be able to receive these messages which will guide us through the rest of our life.

I'm not sure if you're a Christian, however just in case you are: "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Philippians 4:13
*That verse always helps me, good luck.

I visualize the people I must confront. I think of what I want to leave them with. A positive "VIEW" of myself.
This is what motivates me.
