When I was In High School, ( In the 50's) Gas was I9 cents a gallon. I Worked after School, Saved my Money, and and bought My first Car, for $75.00 ( I earned $ I6.00 a week.) My car was a cute little I936 Ford. Run Like a charm, and hardly used "any" Gas! And READY for this? I Had no Drivers License Or Insurance At The time!! My, How Times Have Changed!! (The car was in my Name too) YOU JUST MADE ME GO DOWN MEMORY LANE! (smile)

When I graduated,back in 1977 ..we paid 62 cents.
Stamps were .13 Cents

About $1.06 when I was in high school in Connecticut. I'm 29 now. I remember it would go up to about $1.11 then go back down. That was about 11-14 years ago.
Cigarettes were about $2 - $2.25 a pack.
