This is a very important question for my homework....its due tommorrow. I have to tell about it in a paragraph. I cant think of anything...PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!

-the end of segregation (a la Little Rock in the 50s, the bus boycotts and lunch counter sit-ins)
-the end of Jim Crow
-enfranchisement of minority voters (i.e. the declarations that literacy tests and poll taxes are illegal)
-equal opportunities for employment, housing, and education
-the methodologies: MLK and Malcolm X, the widespread practice of civil disobedience, and the use of grassroots movements
-increased rights for minorities and homosexuals; the newer waves of feminism

Basically, Civil Rights has changed in that in the postwar period, people were able to effect changes that have been lasting and permanent, even if they weren't total reforms, they were improvements to society nonetheless. Intolerance has become more taboo and less accepted in society (also, not totally eradicated, but lessened).

he was a large factor in the civil rights movement in the 60s
you also might want to talk about integration and riots and stuff
