In the finale, during Jack's flashback or flash-forward whatever you want to call it, twice he brings up his father. Once when he tries to use his dad's prescription pad and then when he tells that other doctor to go get his dad at see which of them were more drunk. Are we supposed to believe he's that messed up he thinks his dad's alive or what?? and also, why do you think Jack and Kate were acting like they weren't supposed to see eachother?

ummm, it was a flash forward... and Jack never says his dad is alive....

people seem to take things to literal when they watch this show....

quotes from a Lost theories site....
"also, when she says she must call Jack’s dad, he tells her not to bother, because he is indeed dead… As for the comments of jack to the Chief of Surgery about getting his dad down there.. I think those were in reference to the fact that his dad was always drunk and often performing surgeries"

"part of me thinks the mention of jack’s father was only to have the audience believe it was a flashback…until the very end. It did its job…it made the ending very shocking and confusing"

"the new chief of surgery may not even know who the father was, only heard of Jack before. and the pharmasist girl wouldn’t know who the father was either. i think that there is something behind it all. Jack mentioned twice about his dad being alive, or go get him…etc….i had a feeling while watching the “flashbacks” that they were really “flash forwards”…"

I haven't even figured out why they all seem to have known each others before but do not recognize each other.
By the end of that episode, I thought I was that messed up.
If they want to keep me for the next 3 years, it needs to be easier to follow than the last couple of shows.

He's high on oxycontin and alcohol.

His father is DEAD.

Look at the face of the doctor he is talking to, and notice his reaction to the pharmacist when she wanted to verify the prescription.
