the smart one but acts like a "donkey"..
it's like stooping at the level of the dumb one..
but more embarassing..
more into-your-face

Funnily enough, I got along quite well with many of the smart.... errr... mules - that I've met in my long list of past and present acquaintances. I don't really know why, but I found their company a little bit more bearable compared to the dumb... errr.... ones.
Probably because with the smart "mules", I could at least engage in a reasonably sensible conversation without having to pause in mid-sentence to explain what I'm talking about?
Or maybe I'm just too impatient with all things slow.
Or maybe it's because I'm just a plain snob, after all...
This is a good, honest question. You had me into a little bit of self-reflection there, actually.

For me, the more annoying group of people would have to be the dumb a$$es. It just feels like they don't use common sense! It's like they choose to be stupid! I have VERY low patience for stupidity. At least if it's a smart @$$ im talking to I can relate because I myself am a master in the art of smart @$$ery

A dumba$s is more annoying than a smarta$s because at least the smarta$s makes sense and has some intelligence most of the time, whereas a dumba$s is just dumb. A smarta$s can be entertaining and the stupidity of a dumba$s gets old after a while.
