Not that I am aware of unless they don't like the answers they are getting but I figure if you really need info you can look it up yourself on the internet..

I disagree as I've extended several questions because there has been only one or two answers and after extending it the number of answers has increased, as an example I have one running at the moment "The Bush One" which was supposed to post in the Jokes section but me being a stupid Paddy didn't pay attention and it ended up in the Politics section ( it's not my opinion but meant to a dry sarcastic joke ). This has turned out to a different item now as people took it seriously and I've even been getting hate mail about it since ,but the main thing is that just a few hours ago I got yet another answer for it. I don't and won't extend a joke or frivolous question but sometimes it's better to do this to a question that I feel has merit or value, this policy has introduced me to nice people as well as on occasion producing a Best Answer.

Exactly ! But, in real case. where it should have been just Questions on yahoo, we find answers given by the asker himself....and asking us to agree or find it funny !!!
I guess there is not a way to do anything about this.
Move ahead. Jump to the other questions !!!
:)

Seriously. I think it's pretty stupid.
But sometimes I may answer questions that are a couple of days old. (I search for certain questions using Advanced Search) The questioners must look back b/c they choose me as best answer sometimes.

yes, to get more than 2 answers. other than that, there are no other legitimate reasons.
