Geeze good question. I'd be upset if he was too young but teen could be 13 or 19, big difference. Plus did he use protection? But if he spread rumors that would upset me, not only for her but for him. I'd want him to be honest and not succumb to peer pressure. He should be proud to be a virgin till he meets the right woman. I honestly don't know which would make me more upset, you gave me something to think about. I'm giving you a star.

I think he needs to take responsibility for his actions and have some consenquences such as Appologizing face to face to this girl he trashed...and made rumors about.....and to make perhaps an announcement in her class to the other students that he Made up that rumor and he's sorry* he put her through that embarrassment*- ask how he would have felt if she had spread rumors something horrible about him* that could ruin his life -like he's a gangster, or drug dealer, or sleeps around with lots of girls etc...HOpe she can forgive him and i hope he finally "gets it" and never does that again*

growing up teen girls are dammed if they do and dammed if they don't, it all depends on the girl and how well people know her, if she is the type that everyone sees as being clean and innocent than they are not going to believe a stupid rumor, now if she has had sexual relationships than your son saying he was part of that number is not really gonna matter. now on the other hand is your son that much of a follower maybe he needs to be a leader and be proud of being himself,

learning he started a rumor that could ruin the girls reputation.

he had no right to do that and i'd make it crystal clear that he better clean up that mess.

but being told that he had sex already, i'd be surprised and kind of ask him if it was protective sex, then as a mother i would make sure he has condoms, if its not from someone that loves him then who, his friends?? no.

Learning he started a rumor. For punishment set the record straight for the girls sake. Even if he gets mad it will be worth it.

Him ruining a girls reputation! For that, I would not have any tolerance. He may need it spelled out for him - and if he doesn't have a conscience yet, you really need to help him find one.

Is he spoiled?

i think you allready know the answer to that .....a rumor can be forgotten in time but once the deed is done you can't change that
