If you liked the movie FIGHT CLUB, it was written by Chuck Palahniuk. The book is better than the movie, but his other novels are just as good. Invisible Monsters is his more darker, grosser book. Choke, is his better book. That's if you enjoy contemporary fiction.

You want something that is mindless and easy to read. I would recommend the Shopaholic series by Sophie Kinsella. They are very easy to read and pretty funny too!
