Why are Americans so uncivilized?

I'll elaborate...
...they live in the most developed/powerful/richest country in the world, but:
-Eat **** for food
-Watch **** on TV
-Know nothing about the world that their government controls
-Are the most arrogant people in the world.
-Don't read
-Have little to no empathy
-Haven't had a legitimate culture since the 1950s/60s
-Are brainwashed by sensationalist real TV/entertainment.
-Would rather watch **** on TV and read superficial magazines than read a book
-Have one of the worst education and healthcare sytems out of any developing country
-Have the highest crime rate out of any developed country.
-Most couldn't even point to Iraq or Iran on a map..
-Have no morals, values aside from religion and what the president tells them...
-Some don't believe in evolution...
-Are the most overweight people on earth.
etc, etc...

sorry, i've lived in the USA...but now live in China. It's so different actually living in a civlization.

Go to India, Italy, Greece, China...and compare the differences of how people treat each other and what they do in their free time, compared to Americans.

China has lifted 400 million people out of poverty in under 25 years. Your government is 260 years old, yet you still have 1/6 of Americans on or below the poverty line. What kind of progress is that?
Yes, China has problems today, but compared to the USA the first 100 years after independence...China's problems are miniscule...no slavery, no native genocide, no manifest destiny...
If you travel to Europe or especially Asia, most people would rather go to Canada or Australia or England than the USA....but to understand that, means you'd have to get up of the couch for more than a few seconds to the fridge.

But I promise you we are not all knuckle dragging Neanderthals we are a country of immigrants we have a little bit of everybody here and we all mix together it is awesome. So to call us all uncivilized is to insult not only us but also your self. Try and think about what you say. maybe to rephrase your question with the word some in between are and Americans and you might get a better response.

I agree wholeheartedly with the initial posting. This country could be summed up thusly: Fat, dumb, and lazy. I was born in 1952, have lived here all my life, but I travelled to England twice and I have friends in Germany, Australia, and England, and I know that, despite people mindlessly and constantly chanting it, America is NOT Number 1 (unless you re talking about being number one in ignorance and violence).

Think about it: who's been immigrating to the US all these years? The cultured elite? Or the losers and failures at the bottom who couldn't feed themselves? And just look at them all. Genetic filth. Thank God for America, at least Europe has a place to stash it's dregs and make them useful in their own retard colony.

However, that doesn't give you the excuse to sing praises to China, Communism, or Europe. They're filthy anuses all the same, just of a different smell and for different reasons. I have many close friends from Communist countries. They despised those regimes. And China pulled people out of poverty? Really? And assuming that, at what cost? Tens of million of lives during the Great Leap Forward? So perhaps you should show a little humility. Are you assuming all 320 million of us are the same? I would hope not, that would be idiotic. Perhaps our cultures are different, and you just can't comprehend ours? I have encountered many people asking the same thing, yet when you ask them about their own country and countrymen, there is plenty of ignorance, lack of education, incivility, etc. but since it's their own country, they refuse to acknowledge it.

Also, I have found that no matter what the US does, someone will complain. If there is injustice somewhere in the world and we take action, people say we are meddling. If we do not take action, we are said to not care. I have encountered people who ask why the US does not give them more aid because we have More money, yet their country is the richest on their particular continent, and they do not give much aid to their poorer neighbors.

Is everyone in your family the exact same? I doubt it. If there are varied ideas, opinions, values, and personalities within one family, how can you not see that the citizens of ANY nation (much less one this large) might have myriad opinions?

If you have ever been here you would realize that we are the most diverse country on this earth...racially and politically. It wasn't too long ago that Great Britain was the Imperialistic country ruling the world and destroying cultures...may I say India/Pakistan, South Africa...etc. Funny how people forget our past. There are plenty of us who don't agree with the political situations that are at hand, but we also realize how difficult it is to change things outside of an election year (at least we have elections)...even then there are sometimes more affluent forces at hand that make choices for the rest of us. Only ethnocentric people make such broad generalizations...having a P.h.d in the universe I would figure you would know better. And you live in China! LOL! Are you serious, what a joke...I suppose it was the only country that would take you; one citizen we don't mind loosing. Best of luck to you, don't let the communists know you have a computer and are communicating with the outside world, your views might get distorted, they might tell you chinese food is the most unhealthy food on the planet..yes, even worse than McDonalds! If we don't have a culture in America then why is everyone copying our style in music and movies, entertainment is American...did you know there is chinese hip-hop...get a clue the rest of the world is one big American rip off;) We create the style you can make our clothes.
