They had NO REASON to be upset and angry when their dirty, boring, hated team lost to the Suns after Horry slammed Nash into the table. They didn't get screwed!!! They NEVER get screwed. They are David Stern's babies!!!! He takes care of them. Screw the entire NBA.
The Spurs have been in the two lowest rated NBA Finals in HISTORY, and wait until they break the new record this year. I can see it now. Nobody except for 16 year old airhead girls in San Antonio will be watching the Finals.

"We know the difference. Like, Go spurs go!" - another fine, intelligent response from one of the knowledgable female fans here.
Yeah Nash flopped. No one else would've had to leave their feet after he threw his forearm into him while he was running down the sideline. Clueless. Delusional. Idiots.

LOL Brittney S, you are exactly the type of "16 year old airhead girl" that Jeff mentioned. Nice comeback. That one stung.

Um Hello. they don't know what to say. what to do or to kill so they blame it on the referee duhhhhh!!!! LOL. i watch the hole game and i just couldn't believe how almost every play Duncan or some spur was on that free trow line. if u take away those free throw this game would a been a blow out. did u guys see the Derek Fisher play in the 4th they called goal tending and not just that the Duncan Dunk b4 The half that was traveling people. I guess now they can't blame The lakers for using the refffs 2 win games. sorry spurs u got played by a real championship team

We DO know the difference between losing and getting screwed! The Spurs are NOT a dirty team! Boring and 'hated' are just your opinions! What Horry did was a dirty and very uncalled for play, but he is NOT a dirty player! We have been screwed, but we don't keep on whining about it! We accept it and move on! David Stern is NOT PLAYING FAVORITES! Now that I have stated those FACTS, I just want know one thing. Will you and everyone that thinks the same as you ever become a mature adult(s)? Oh and I am 16, and also will be taking the GED later this year. If you asked me, you would be the one being the 'airhead'!

I must not have seen the poll stating that only 16 year old airhead girls are the only ones who will be watching the finals. Who's whining now! I can't believe people are still whining about the Suns. Get over it. Their season is over and so are the Jazz. The Spurs are only winning because of David Stern, the refs, magic spells, etc.... None of them are the least bit talented. You can hate the Spurs all you want while they are laughing all the way to the bank!!! Idiot!

Bad officiating? It's not San Antonio's fault the Jazz put them at the line. You know why they get to the line? because of fouls, they show replays of most plays and the refs make the right calls like 90% of the time. If the spurs are so boring why would David Stern take care of them if they bring in no profit and low ratings? Suns fans, get over it! It happened, Amare should have known a "stupid rule" that everyone follows, pertains to him too. Jazz fans, you all didn't screwed, yall are just hot heads. Throwing trash on the court, that is just sad. Did Spurs fans throw things at the Suns for winning game 4? No! You need to learn to keep your composure, did greg poppvich get ejected or make an *** of himself in game 3? No!, he knew what the problem was, he didn't have anyone to blame but his team. blah blah blah "the refs are bought" your idiots of you think that is true. The calls go both ways also, I see plenty of calls go Utah's way. But honestly, that was really pathetic of the Utah fans at the end of the game and throwing junk on the floor, that is really sad. Grow up, life sucks get used to it, even if your team lost and is out of the playoffs, get over it.

To be fair, it's hard to admit that your team is getting the benefit of the doubt (or the benefit of biased refereeing, etc.). Two guys collide, you want the foul to go on the other team, so that's the way you see it. You don't want your team's win to be tarnished, so you don't admit to yourself or anyone else that the opposing team got screwed.
That being said, it's quite clear that both the Suns and Jazz have been screwed by bad league decisions and bad calls. Game 5 of the Suns/Spurs series and consequently the entire series went to the Spurs because they were rewarded for a dirty play. There's really no denying that the Suns got screwed, unless you're a devoted Spurs fan who doesn't want to admit it. The refereeing in Game 4 of the Jazz/Spurs series was disgracefully bad in favor of the Spurs, and again there's no denying that unless you're a devoted Spurs fan.
So to answer your question, it's because people perceive things they way they want them to be.

Everybody in San Antonio watches the finals when our Spurs are playing. The gas station gives the community free coffee when the Spurs win. Businesses have weekly competitions to see who has the most spirit... Game day is Spurs T-shirt day at most businesses... The Spurs belong to the community, and the community is devoted to their Spurs.
We'll all tune in to the finals... and we'll flood the streets, honking horns, and whooping and hollering when they win again.
And then we'll give them a river parade.
BTW, I'm 46.

Jeff, why don't you ask your Phoenix Suns fan club? or better yet, why don't you ask the Mavs fans that are still all over the blogs.
It isn't about getting screwed, you have to play through the officiating. The last time I check this officiated crew has historically never done the Spurs a favor.
The Jazz played well, but couldn't capitalize when they needed to. Give it a rest already. Did any of you consider that the 2005 finals low ratings had something to do with Detroit and their brawl early in the season?????

I'm neither 16 nor an airhead, thank you. I'm apparently smarter than you because you can't even see how you just contradicted yourself. If the Spurs were in the "two lowest NBA Finals in HISTORY", what could David Stern possibly gain by taking care of them?
