No sex is the best birth control
Those forms of birth control will only work if you remember to take them when you need to. If you forget to take em, they won't do ya much good.

The problem with the once-a-month pill and the IUD you mentioned is that is something goes wrong it takes a while for you to work it out of your system (or get the IUD taken out)
Traditional pill is probably a better idea because you can stop taking it immediately if you have problems and it will be out of your system within a few days.
My sister used the shot (You get once every 3 months, no periods) but she gained about 10 lbs while on it.
The only fail-proof b/c is no sex...but we need to be realistic, right???? Unless you can 100% say that your potential partner is no disease, always ALWAYS use a condom!!!!
As someone else suggested, you might consider using standard b/c pills PLUS a condom.

The one that works best for you and your partner.
Don't forget that there are many different types of birth control methods, including hormonal. And that the only form of birth control that also offers protection against STI's is a condom.
There is no such thing as a single or combination of methods of birth control that is 100% effective.
Abstinence is unrealistic and completely ignores the prospects of non-consensual and/or forced sex acts. And abstinence only education kills.

There is no one best form of birth control, they all have their flaws. Even abstinence, because some kids think that only means no vaginal sex. They do everything but, and if they are not careful semen could get near the vagina and the girl could get pregnant.

Abstinence is the only way to be 100% sure.
The pill is, I think... 98.9% effective.
A condom is about 96%. But don't let those numbers fool you!
I knew a lady who was on the pill, taking it as she was supposed to, used a condom the one time she did, AND used a vaginal condom, and she got pregnant her first time.
So, abstinence, my friend, abstinence.
