I just bought my first bike (1990 VFR 750), I do all my own work and obviously my auto parts store won't sell any motorcycle parts. Does anyone know a good website/store to order parts from (I've found Bike Bandit to be too expensive and haven't found anything else that would work).
Thanks for the help!

For replacement parts - carb bits, suspension components, bearings, seals, gaskets, etc. Like Guardrailjim says - use stock Honda parts.

And yes, OEM motorcycle parts are expensive. Bike Bandit has decent pricing, but Service Honda is usually the cheapest for OEM Honda parts.

Ebay is okay if you really know what you want, and have excellent knowledge of parts. Otherwise you can waste money on something that's not right, or is not in any better condition than what you're replacing!

Aftermarket is the way to go for wear items - chain, sprockets, tires, spark plugs, etc. Check out Bike Bandit, and the other companies others have recommended.

Check your local dealer too - sometimes their prices are as good or better than buying online (if you add in shipping costs). This is especially a good idea if you're unsure exactly what you need - just leave it to the local expert in the parts department to order the right thing - if it's wrong then they deal with the hassle of returns.

If you have a list of specific items you're looking for, just post it here and ask where to get each item - the experts here will give you many options - probably with part numbers and links!

In all honesty, some after industry components are extra effectual some are worse. it relatively relies upon on application, state and federal rules (legality of section and emissions), and producer. maximum OEM components are made with the automobiles production facility specs in strategies. Aftermarket components (as quickly as returned counting on application) artwork terrific while used with different components that would get replaced with the section you want. Say you want a swifter; you should map the swifter to income appropriate torque and horsepower and for that to artwork you should establish you have the right intake and exhaust. Then, you should make certain that the heads will artwork with the recent intake and exhaust and it is going on from there. no longer all aftermarket replacements are this complicated yet they are continuously the terrific thank you to circulate.

these guys have a lot of parts for new and old parts. don't know if they have what you are looking for.

you might also want to try to find an on-line rider's club specific to your bike. usually people who have them know more specifics about the actual bike, and where to get parts, and which parts are better.

Also, make sure you have enough basic parts to fix the bike when you drop it. 750cc bikes are not forgiving enough for a 1st bike. stay safe.

Keep the Rubber side down, the shinny side up.

OEM parts are expensive anywhere, because they're the best quality.
Always use OEM
