Moon...
Beauty,dependance,lonliness,
fantasy,strength,growth,bedtime-stories..

Beauty- moon is beautiful...

dependance- moon refects the light of the sun, without the sun, moon has no value.

lonliness- alone in the sky...amongst so many pretty stars..but it shines so happily but still alone...

Fantasy- moon denotes fantasy...all the heavenly fairies and dreams...and the magical world...just because its so superbly shiny and beautiful.

strength of inner beauty- to be called "beautiful" even after having so many scars...is a symbol of "strength of the inner beauty" or rather...i am not getting the word..

growth: from the no moon to the full moon...different stages of life...but in the end..the moon is still beautiful.

bedtime stories....it relates to my childhood...there was a book in my time...which was called as "chanda mama" or " uncle moon"...which had wonderful bedtime stories...so it symbolises bedtime stories to me....

:)

I haven't read that part of the bible so I can't really answer, but to me the Moon is illumination and guidance out of darkness. Which is why the moon is the symbol of the Goddess, because watches over the Earth and protects us. The God only gives the spark of life (which is why his symbol is the Sun).

A woman. But contradictorily, cold (the other side of the moon is where the Persians reckoned human souls go, to shiver in the dark and cold winds, when the work of their hands, or their memory, disappeared on Earth). And thought, reflection, meditation. And companionship in dark times. The moon at night is a silent watcher; the moon in daylight is a child out playing when it should be safe at home. So, like most things, it is many things. And fun to play with.

Wow, for me personaly? Well I know all about the symbology and the powerful meanings it has in many different cultures, so I geuss mine is a hybrid.

Firstly, I find it to be an absolute miracle because without it, we would not have tides or any light at night. It is a testiment to life, and to knowldge of the stars and heaven.

Also, it is represented as feminin, negative, and the source of all knowledge. The moon cycles are linked to women's menstral cycles, and the daily tidal patterns are directly related to the moon.

So for me, it is something that I take for granted, but when you think about it in a bit of detail, there is a lot that the moon does for us, and it really is by chance that we have it.

From personal experience, limitless inner joy, peace, stillness, ever-fresh pleasant sight every time.
It never tires me watching it.
During a meditation, it caused so much of cold to permeate within, that I mistook the abrupt shivering to be an attack of 'malarial fever' (it was a peak summer night, Buddha Poornima, a full moon night !)
Traditionally, moon symbolises human mind, though all other symbolic references are quite significant, but difficult to accept with the logically-restricted limitations of mind (itself !).
This symbol of mind can be verified with just a visit to any mental asylum/hospital (on full /new moon nights, the inmates are notably disturbed, requiring intense involvement of caretakers). The magnetism on earth is evident from the extra tidal activity at sea during full/new moon nights (fishermen folks would vouch for this.... some do not venture on such nights for deep sea fishing !)

Woman: the monthly potential for renewal of life; the tides of change. She is a symbol of Grandmothers and female energy. These are cultural beliefs, but they make sense to me. The full moon is a time that women take to honour themselves and be thankful for the renewal that the moon brings. For me, the full moon means getting together and celebrating existence with my female friends. It may sound kind of hokey, but I find it to be beautiful. (and we aren't sexist either... everything is balanced... women have Grandmother moon, men have Grandfather sun :)

to me the moon symbolizes the idea that things are not always what they seem to be.
because
the moon changes its aspect each night and
it is something we see only because the sun lights it
and
sometimes it seems to follow us as we walk along, and
other times we see it looking out at us from the surface of a lake or the sea.

symbolize? i dont know that it symbolizes anything for me, but i LOVE that there is something SO CLOSE that we can see the surface of it w/our naked eyes!!!! without that moon, we would not be able to do that. i have a decent telescope and love to look at the planets etc and love to think about the meaning of it all and the hugeness and beauty of it all.

Hope. Harmony. Serenity. I feel all of these emotions when I look at the moon.

HOPE that someone I dearly love is seeing that same MOON and thinking of me.

HARMONY in nature. The MOON controls nature.

SERENITY in it's beautiful, soft glow. And the tranquility that the night time provides.
