Let me clear a couple of things up for you guys. There is a scene at the end of the credits,(like there was in the first and second one). The curse is lifted after 10 years as long as Elizabeth remained faithful and waited for Will. She does and Will no longer has to be captain. He meets her and they now have a ten year old son. They conceived the son on the beach at the end of the movie, obviously they had sex for those who are naive.
Now...about the 4th movie. Johnny Depp is dying to play Captain Jack Sparrow again, he loves the character. He wants there to be another trilogy, a 4th, 5th, and 6th. I don't think Will and Elizabeth should be in it because they have settled and now have a child. Although, they are talking about keeping the character Elizabeth for the 4th, but talk about killing off or just getting rid of Will because they find his character useless to continue on, but they seem to want to keep Elizabeth. I don't know how that will work, considering they have a son, but as much as I love Will and Elizabeth, I believe there time has come to an end and Jack should move on with new supporting characters. Will and Elizabeth's story has pretty much died off with a deserving and happy ending, considering they had to wait 10 years to be together again. Although, Elizabeth has became a great pirate and apparently the "King of Pirates", so she may need to be included. The 4th movie is just in the works, that does not mean they have decided to do one or not, but Johnny Depp is all for it and is fighting to keep the frachise going.
If they make a 4th pirate movie, it will be released in Summer of 2009! So you wouldn't have to wait long.
As for the Pirates 4, rumors from interviews, hearsay, actors/actresses, premiers, writers/directors, and whoever else.
The director is also sick of making the movies, so if there is a 4th one there is a possibility that there will be a new director, which could make or break the film.

People seriously need to stop asking this question; I've seen it ten times since yesterday.
THERE ARE NO PLANS AS OF RIGHT NOW FOR A 'PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN 4', FOR THE LAST TIME.
Jerry Bruckheimer has stated again and again that they aren't making one as of right now; several of the actors have expressed interest in a 4th movie, but Johnny is retiring in a few years, and the other actors have projects they're working on right now, anyway. Jerry also said if there's ever going to be a 4th one, it won't be for many years from now, anyway.

It's wide open for another sequel-
Jack's going after the fountain of youth (and he needs to get the Pearl back from Barbossa). If you saw the scene at the end of the credits, it certainly seems like Elizabeth gets dibs at the fountain of youth, too.
And they need to find a way to save Will from the curse!
We already know Johnny Depp is game for another round- and I'm sure money can do the convincing for less willing castmates.
Also, doesn't Barbossa still have all the pieces of eight?

I read a article saying that a Pirates 4 is already in the making and this is probable since Pirates 3 left room for another one. I also read an article saying that they may cancel due to the lack of ideas. I think that they will leave it was a trilogy though. Pirates 3 was really repetitive. It was like Pirates 1 and 2 with way better visuals.

I was watching the preview on HBO Asia last week.
The director or producer (Sorry, but I'm not sure which he is.) said, "Why would we end something that is so successful?"
The hostess also commented on the fact that they were still building new sets after filming was already completed on the third film.
