Not that this expresses my own view, but the Sins have been placed in order at various times in history from least destructive to most destructive. Pride is usually portrayed as the worst because it is the one most concerned with the self and the one that seriously prevents a person from changing. Now that I think about it, I might agree that pride is the worst, even though everyone today says we have to be proud of ourselves and our country, this and that... just nonsense. None of us is better than anyone else, and no country is better than another, unless you believe 'might makes right.' But then you're on dangerous ground.

Each individual has one they favor more than the others and actually this spirals into the other sins so that it becomes blurry to all on what is the underlying sin.
For example a man is a sexaholic. Does this mean that his sin is lust or is his sin gluttony? Fine line for sure, and different depending on how he is driven to use his addiction to sex. It may even be that "Wrath" is the underlying sin that drives a sexaholic into lust and gluttony. Definantly very hard to pinpoint what is the unique destructive force behind the behaviors.
To discover what the true underlining sin is the inflicted individual must first identify the problem (in our example, I have lust, gluttony, and wrath) then the individual should take steps to move away from the affliction. However, after peeling the layers away, they may still find that the unspoken problem is greed.
In short, these sins are entwined so closly it's hard to separate one from the other.

I believe envy to be the most destructive because several of the others can be spawned from it. Envy can also lead to other problems not listed as one of the 7 Deadly Sins.

In combination, they are exactly what they are said to be, 'The Seven Deadly Sins'.
To define, the most destructive. Is not a simple matter, of ratifying one(01) single item.
Rather it's a combination of all seven(07) Sins, with the corresponding seven(07) Good Deads.

Pride is the greatest sin of all. All others are in one way or another the result of pride. (which is putting yourself before others) It's what Satan was cast out of heaven for. It's why Eve convinced Adam to partake of the forbidden fruit. It's why Cain killed Able. It's why the Sanhedrin wanted Jesus destroyed. The list goes on and on.....

I think greed. Because it can cause you to take from other people, and hurt other people. The others are sins that are destructive to yourself not yourself AND others.
