I watched a few minutes of it tonight. It is very negative and in poor taste if you ask me.

Out of the 50 or so "situation comedy" shows on TV most of them are written for a grade 5 mentality.
Recording actual interviews of rock stars and rappers on TV and reading them afterward shows that most contain two syllable words and have no relationship to any real meaning. Rather they are just descriptive colloquial phrases such as "hey man, you know what I mean, that rocks, cool and yo".
The dumbing down of America is nowhere more prevalent than in the TV sit-coms that are offered to the public. People with apparently no idea of how to carefully select or discriminate TV so as to improve their minds or broaden their outlook on life are in the majority. Their lives just drift along in a haze of stereotyped phrases that they have heard from Eminem or some other rapper.At work they seldom use any language above grade 5 .They never innovate but merely follow the leader in their pack. These are THE COUNTLESS DRONES that inhabit every town and city.
The TV shows like Wife Swap are just samples of others which have no redeaming features. Violence against womem is popular, kick-*** is a must for these folks, humour is just above toilet wall inscription.
Just consider yourself lucky to recognize these folks and realize you are NOT among them.

I've watched it. They take people who are polar opposites to swap out, it seems. I feel sorry for the kids going through it. And the pets! Some of the pets get treated badly by someone else's wife. I agree that it's in poor taste, but sometimes it's just hilarious to watch. I'll watch it if I have nothing else to do.

It shows the different strategies and tactics on raising your kids with discipline. Thats what I get out of it, even though my girlfriend makes me watch it.
But when you think about it, the show just shows you that they need to function more like a family and it is not just the kids' fault.

I have watched it a couple of times, it's funny to see how they match up the couples. Usually it does have positive outcomes for the families.
