Diaper rash is caused by too much moisture on the skin, not diapers.
The absorbancy levels in store brand diapers may not be as high as the name brand ones, so you may have to change your baby more often.

It isn't diapers that cause diaper rash, it is the baby's urine and fecal matter staying in contact with the baby's skin too long that causes diaper rash.
The store brand diapers probably don't hold as much as the brand name diapers do, if they did, then they would cost just as much as the name brand diapers. Because of that, you have to change them more often so in the long run, you really aren't saving any money and you are opening your baby up to a higher possibility of diaper rash if you aren't able to change the baby more often than with brand name diapers.
What you need to do, is change your baby often and make sure you clean the diaper area good before you put a fresh diaper on. Also, you will find that if you use cloth diapers your baby wouldn't have as many occurrences of diaper rash as he/she would with disposable diapers. Just consider it.
Good luck.

Well I have been using store brand diapers for 14 months now andmy little one has only had one small case of diaper rash, so I say no. In fact I find the store brand diapers to be cheaper than purchasing them at costco.

Depends on the baby my mom does foster care and we usually use store brand because we have so many babies because she takes 4 kids in under the age of 5. The only baby I've seen it cause a rash to is my little sister. She was allergic to them or something she couldn't even use huggies she had to use luvs and only luvs. Odd I know.

you know, they might. But also, sometimes their poop can kinda have acid in it and cause their little bottoms to get prety soar. Thats what happened to my son. I just put really good diaper rash cream on him and it cleared up. Try that, and if it doesnt work, its probably the diaper. Good luck!

not unless your baby has an allergy to something in the diaper or you leave it on to long. i had a friend who's kids would break out if she used anything but the cheapest diapers from a discount store.however it has been my experience that they are full and need changed in like an hour or they will explode. i always planned on using luvs but anything but pampers leaks for my son.

My third baby has very sensiive skin and she breaks out whenevr I use a storebought diaper with fragrance(Pampers).
So I switched to huggies(no frag) and she no longer has a rash!
