How do I add a computer onto my Insight H Speed cable internet?

Insight installed my cable Tv and one computer with internet. They would NOT install my laptop to make a network. What am I missing to make this complete? I was actually surprised that the insight internet works off a phone line instead of the cable line.

You need to purchase a wireless router and a wireless adapter for the laptop if it does not have wireless installed on it already.....
