What is the percentage of atheletes that make enough money to support themselves?

I know it is low, but is it probable that I put my cards on being able to suffice on the pay I recieve from sports participation? Specifically volleyball.

it's about 5 percent. you'll have better chances in Europe, because they're more open to other sports and that sort of thing. in the states, it's the national team or the AVP outdoor tours. they don't rake in tons unless you place in the top 3 of the big tournaments. i would say a part time job would be helpful.

I'm not sure what you mean by your "cards," but I'd be surprised if 100 volleyball players earned enough money to not do other things. That's a pretty low percentage.
