I take it you are speaking of the actual act of "intercourse".
That is a choice you will need to make, my opinion , yes(and I deal with it for various reasons in counseling sessions all the time)
love isn't intercourse, closeness and communication are as much a part of sex as intercourse, many many married couples have this issue , especially late in life, and are still happy and married.

The only time sex should be withheld from the Marriage is when both spouse's agree to it and then it should only be for a very short period. If it is because of something physical, accident,etc... that is no ones fault and cannot be helped. That is when alot of love comes in to play and many years of a healthy marriage will pull your marriage thru. Best luck, God Bless.

That's so tough. I think that having sex with the one you love is such a true expression of your love for a person. Or at least it should be. To get lost in each other physically and emotionally is one of the most incredible things you can experience with your loved one. Yes the marriage can survive without it. It's just a matter of finding that special something that you both can share intimately.

You need to ask yourself all the reasons that you entered into marriage, not just the sex question. For richer for poorer, in health and in sickness. I would hope that you have an excellent foundation to work on, friendship, trust, love these things come into a marriage as well. Is the illness incurable? Will this be a long term thing?

Illness is something your spouse can't help, so I say yes, it can survive. It's time to buy a toy until he's better.

Yes, if two people truly love each other and want to honor their marriage vows. There are also ways of giving each other satisfaction and pleasure without the full act. Sometimes, even just holding each other, speaking tenderly and sincerely, and caressing each other brings great fulfillment.

i believe it can (if it's due to illness/physical problem like you said)
after all sex is really about intimacy and love and you can still have that in a healthy relationship.

I think it can since there is good reason why you're not having sex. It is much different when one of you can't have sex than when one of you refuse to have sex.
