No, it is not addictive. You may be addicted to the way that you feel and want to do it all the time but there is no physical addiction.
It is true though, it can be a very relaxing thing but if you use it a lot, I think your brain starts to work slower.

I'm in high school. And smoking weed just wouldn't be a good idea. It will give you a bad reputation, the only girls you'll get are the hoars, and it'll make your life even more stressful. The friends I have that smoke pot wish they never started. You don't get addicted to the weed itself, but the high. It's almost like you'll feel it's the only way to solve your problems when in reality it doesn't solve anything... only wastes your money, kills brain cells, and ends you up in Juvie. (Juvenile Detention Home) And once brain cells are killed, there is no possible way to get them back. So unless you want a rough road ahead of you, then don't even start with smoking pot.

Okay, you are afraid of addiction only. But let me add, that if you compare cigarette smoke with marijuana smoke, it is much thicker and yellow, indicating a higher number of particles which will damage the lungs. It is addicting physiologically, meaning you get hooked on the feelings that it gives you. It also causes something called "amotivational syndrome" which is psych-speak for not giving a crap about anything, so I suppose you could call that "relaxed". Since it is illegal and rather costly (in relation to the money you would have at your age), then of course using it will likely cause problems. Sounds like you need new friends.

I hung out with alot of kids in high school that smoked pot, even did it myself. One day decided that sitting arround getting stoned every day, was not worth the risk of getting into trouble, not worth the money. As far as "the relaxing part" try meditation, karate, a sauna.... these would be far more relaxing than pot.. on a final note.. (I choose to stop).. turning 30 this year, own my house, own 2 cars, have two great children, married once (just had 11 yr aniv),, great spouse, have 1 degree, 2nd one in a year, 2 medical licenses and plan on starting medical school in two years...as for the pot smoking buddies that I hung out with... most are divorced, poor.. bad job or no job, or in Jail .... and sad to say just heard another was dead! So you weigh the odds.. utimately the choice is yours to make.

Pot is very addictive, despite what your friends might say. Just because your friends do it, does not mean you should start. You want to relax, lay down, take a nap. You sound smart you haven't started so don't. You will not miss out on anything. Unless you want to drop out of school, miss out on your education, therefore you'll have know job skills and you wind up living with mom at 50 years old.
Just say no!

According to the APA, the AMA, and the DSM-IV, pot is addictive. It is a slower acting drug so people don't realize it until it is too late. It is not wise to try it. You will have to trust that the drug dealer is actually giving you what you think it is. I have seen several people have psychotic breaks due to MJ.

if you want something legal and fun look up Salvia Divinorum. It is a legal safe drug that has an anti-depressant effect that lasts a few days. P.S. if u try Salvia get a 5x extract. Leaves do nothing. Here is a site that will guide you through it if you decide to try it.

Please DON'T start smoking! Thirty-six years ago I started smoking to "calm down" and now not only am I addicted to nicotine but the cost of maintaining my "habit" is phenomenal. Do some deep breathing exercises, put on a rhinestone and get over it!!!

Really....tell to yourself...is pot really going to IMPROVE anything about you, your friends, your school performance, your happiness, and your relations with others?????...Is it so necessary in your life as to be dodging police, being chased by dealers charging or collecting money from you???
Is weed going to CHANGE anything gor good in your life??
If POT is that important....go ahead,,,take some polls that justify your decision, and say "I do smoke pot because they told me in the web, that weed isnt really ALL that bad,",,,go ahead and use it instead of Marlboro, lucky strike, Benson &...etc You dont need pot to calm yourself down...there are safer and LEGAL methods..however, its your life....your future, and lastly. your health----
Non addictive pot??? please inform about that to my patients that cannot get rid of it in the last 8 to 9 years....they would love to hear about such a new invention.......
My guess is that your decision is already taken...

Why would anyone in their right mind consider taking any drugs that are illegal and very bad for you?!?
I'm at a complete loss here!!!
