It can sort of, thats what an atomic reaction is. The rule you are describing is that MASS can't be created or destroyed in a CHEMICAL REACTION. Even atomic reactions require conservation of mass, as Einstein demonstrated with E=mc2. So energy isn't really created, it is just changing form from mass to energy.

Energy is a force snd not an element. It's the same thing with gravity, we don't make it, it just occurs. And gravity is part of the reason energy it able to be "produced" on earth. You have potential energy like a car parked on a hill with it's parking brake on. Release that break and the potential energy (from the reaction of gravity between the car and the earth) becomes kinetic energy with movement. This energy can be transferred into a number of things: impact with other cars, friction with the road, light and heat when the car catches on fire, etc.
Everything is moving all the time (every atom of your body, the chair you're sitting on, the ground: everything). It's just a matter of how everything reacts to the environment it is introduced to.
By the way, be careful with your double negatives. It should read either:
"Why can energy be neither created nor destroyed?"
or
"Why can't energy be either created or destroyed."

Let's assume I want to try to destroy a chunk of coal. I would probably try to burn it..right? When this happens it gives off fumes, obviously, but it also gives off heat. The energy is converted to heat, we can say. So it really was not destroyed it was converted. In exchange this heat could rise into the room above and end up heating up the room. This effect will cause metals to expand and move from their previous location, this movement is kinetic energy at work. So the thermal was now converted into the kinetic energy of that piece of metal, for example, which in turn will cause somthing else to happen. You see it is a forever going cycle.
Now what could you possibly do to create energy? If you do anything to a matter you are only converting it to another form of energy. And yes, if you burn something to create something else that is not creating it either. So the very best that can be is to convert energy from one form into another.
Wind...blows and turns the windmill which in turn grinds the wheat. The energy stored in the wheat will feed the humans, which in turn will use calories to perform work. Calories are a stored form of energy....so the energy was converted to kinetic again. The work they perform transfers the energy to something else and that continues on and on and on. It is a foregoing process that don't have an ending and never will. Otherwise, our universe would be limited to the energy contained within it...once that is used up no further action could take place...there would be no energy to perform those actions...even the wind blowing on Jupitor or the orbit of planets, galaxies or even black holes. Everything that happens requires some form of energy and when it is used up to do this action it is transferred to " another form"
So at the end of the day we can say, again, the we cannot create energy or destroy it, so the life cycles of the heavens and beyond, from the infinitely large to the infinitely small will continue.

Well, besides the obvious answer that it is one of Newtons's famous laws, it is due to the fact that there is a constant recycling of every molecule that contains energy. It's similar to the statement for every action there is a reaction.
More simply, the atom cannot be destroyed, and ultimately this is our source of energy. The energy used by the body, ATP is produced as a result of the electron transport chain. If atoms and electrons and protons cannot be destroyed or killed, than there is never a creation or a destruction of energy. The same amount of atoms have always been here, and will always be here. Thus, the net amount of energy never changes, it is only transformed from one thing to another.

Well, according to the big bang theory from the very begining there has been a set amount of energy in the world. Everything that uses energy, like anytime anything happens, like you even moving your arm increases the amount of entropy in the universe. The theory is that since entropy is unreversible it will eventually reach a maximum in the universe and everything will cool down to zero kelvin which basically means everything will cease to be.

for me the easy way to visuallize is that energy is 'the ability to do work'. for example chemical energy in the form of gasoline has the potential to generate heat. well when it does, the air now has a higher temperature, which is in a way another 'ability to do work'. it turns out that there is always an equal increase in the energy of something when energy is expended in a process.
i know it's not the detailed answer, but it always helped me. Istart thinking about where that energy goes and lots of things come to mind. clap your hands, which takes energy. well you make sound (energy) and increase the temperature of your hands and the air caught between...and on and on

I don't know why, but my biology teacher said that someone said a law that states matter and energy cannot be created or destroyed but changed into each other
like splitting an atom creates a huge amount of energy-like the nuclear missiles and bombs
