Yes, when you delete say your email, it is only deleted in your email box. The emails remain on your HDD, plus they will be a copy of your emails, data you sent out located in every server in the world where the data had to pass through.
If you have committed a crime any law enforcement agency can obtain a warrant to to retrieve the data from any and all servers where they data remains.
Plus all data remains on your HDD. There is no software, no matter what they claim that will bleach, wipe over and over the data. A good forensic computer expert can strip the data off your HDD.
1. You can prevent a forensic computer expert from pulling any data off your HDD, by taking out HDD, out and beating it with a hammer.
2. Remove the HDD, and place in a safe or other safe place.
End results you are still left with the data in you ISP, server and any an all servers the data has passed through.

If you reinstall your operating system/rewipe your hardrive during the installation i don't think so. All i DO know is that as long as you don't reinstall the OS but just "delete" files they WILL ALWAYS be recoverable, in fact very easily, there are FREE programs for doing this lol

Not always but it can be. When files are deleted they are marked as deleted and the space is made available for other files to be written however if you don't do a lot of file writing the location of your deleted file may never be written to. Thus allowing you to recover a file that has been deleted for quite some time. To permantly delete a file you must do a low level format.

False, there are ways to make it unrecoverable. Overwriting the same spot on the disc several times would make it at least very difficult to recover the original data. There are file "shredder" programs out there to do this.

My opinion for what it's worth: Although many programs suggest they can absolutely clean a HD, before I sell or dump this PC, I will literally, physically destroy the HD.
