Are ATX cases compatible with Micro ATX mobos?

i dont think theres such thing as micro atx cases? correct me if i m wrong i remember fitting micro atx motherboard into this atx case when i built my first computer. Also why are there so many MIcro ATX mobos instead of ATX? do micro ATX mobos have any advantages over ATX mobos?

Yes it is, advantage is size, they take a lot less in width
