My kid loaded Rolling Stone Magazine's Top 500 songs into my IPOD and I like the song : Lose Yourself by Eminem. Also Enter Sandman by Mettalica.
I am 56 years old. Am I loosing it?

Yes: you're 'losing yourself in the music!' But no, you're fine. Rolling Stone is an institution that was created when you would have been coming of age, and therefore should approximate at least some of your views on music (even if they've progressed somewhat). Bottom line: if the magazine chose to place a song on its list, it is because they saw it as possesing a timelessness that made it as great as every other classic song. It's no more strange than me liking the Beatles at 19.

No youre not. But if you are going to start appreciating today's music, stay away from Rolling Stone. They, like MTV, forgot what good music is a long time ago.

No way. I got my dad into Prodigy, Rob Zombie, and the Propellerheads, and he's 44. My uncle likes Nine Inch Nails and KMFDM and he's 47. My grandmother loved Madonna and she was in her 70s (sadly she passed away a few years ago). It just means you're open-minded- it's a positive thing! ^_^

Liking certain kinds of music is never a problem! Just thank God you can still relate to the younger crowd.

nope. It's not a problem that you like "young" music. It just means that you have a different taste in music than most people your age have
