The best jazz music I found for my personal tastes is Smooth Jazz. I've heard some of the more traditional jazz and I wasn't that impressed.
When I did a search on Yahoo Groups for Smooth Jazz I saw in the ad section there a site called Pandora or something like that. I think it was Pandora.com or something like that and it was free to listen to the music.
I typed in a website just because to see if it would work and it did. It's a site about Smooth Jazz. The link is: http://www.smoothjazz.com

For me, at this time, the music from the mid to late 1960's is the best music that I know.
Mostly, its the musicians who were recording for the Blue Note Label.
Some of my favorite albums are;
Bobby Hutchersons-Components
Prince Lasha and Sonny Simmons-Firebirds
Eric Dolphy Out There
Andrew Hill-Point of Departure
Stuff like that.

Plenty of all the music genres on MP3Rocket. There IS a modest initial fee to download their program but following that you pay nothing - as many downloads as you want. Put it in a search engine and see what you think.
