USB 1 and USB 2 the usb 2 connection is a lot faster than the usb1 usb 2 can transfer data up to 480MB second and usb 1 is a lot slower.

USB 2 is advanced version of USB(1) , it is fast and especially apple iPOD opens and operates only with USB 2 port
