Saudi Arabia is not a democratic society and most of the wealth is concentrated in the hands of the royal family who run a repressive government. The USA has always been complicit in this.

Saudi Arabia owes much to the United States, as without our oil technology they would not be wealthy. They nationalized the very oil companies and equipment we brought to them to extract that oil.
Right now Saudi Arabia also owes us for their very existance. Without us they would probably already have been overthrown by Iraq, Iran, or Al Qaeda. For this, they also owe us.
I think we ask very little for what they get.

Their (Saudi Arabia's) embassy is the biggest and most protected embassy in Washington. Ironically it's located near the Watergate Complex. So, in short the answer is a firm YES!!

No! Saudi Arabia is wealthy because they have some of the largest oil deposits in the world.
They remain allies because we are the biggest consumer of their national product - and we act as their protectors with our military.

It owes much of its wealth to the U.S. We've been their biggest oil consumer for years, with only China as an up and comer in that area.
We've also turned a blind eye to alot of bad things going on in that country. We wouldn't want to do anything to upset the big oil companies.

Yeah they love Israel. Really happy we did that for them. HUH? ever hear of Oil? No they don't owe us squat. We have bowed down to the Oil for years.

the only thing saudi has is oil...........and camel spiders. Those damn things are fast!!
