I had one like that. It was used with a spot scrubber cycle.

It's there for your delicates but if you want to make sure I'd go to sears with the make and modle of your machine and ask them to make sure

it's for delicates- lingerie and pantyhose, that kind of thing... It washes these things w/out damaging them with over agitation or tying them in knots.
