Question for smokers and non-smokers, if you saw someone (homeless) picking up cigarette butts to smoke would

I smoke. No I wouldn't give them one. McDonalds is always hiring. "Homeless" is a 5-dollar term for "Lazy".

A homeless person is not weird because they pick up a cigarette butt. I have seen teenagers pick up the butts to get a few "drags" out of the cig. No one should ever be considered weird because of that! I would maybe offer that person a cigarette or two if they needed one and anything else I could afford to give them. Sometimes it is not there fault they are homeless. I look at it in the perspective, how would I want to be treated if the role was reversed and I was the homeless person!

My fiance is a smoker and it took my parents probably months to figure it out and that is only because he left a package in my car. It all depends on the brand they smoke. Some of them really stink and some dont. Also if they wash their clothes good and brush their teeth. It helps keep out the smell. Smoking in areas that have good ventilation will also cover up the smell. I can smell cigarettes as soon as someone lights one, just because I can't stand the smell of them. When my fiance lights one in the house we just light a real strong smelling candle and it covers up the smell.

if??? I used to work in downtown Houston right by the court house and there was this man who would walk around and pick up the cigarette butts that people would throw down. I never saw him ask anyone for a cigarette but I always had a respect for him because of that. he begged for nothing at all. I tried giving him food once and I thought he was gonna kick my ***. I guess it was an insult.

I wouldn't look at them like they are weird, because I used to go through my ash trays and find butts if I ran out of cigarettes before morning. I quit 4 years ago. I don't know if I would buy them cigarettes because that would just help with their addiction. But I would have sympathy for them.

We had a homeless relative who died about 5 years ago. He lived in his auto. He had social security money but drank it all away. He picked up butts from anywhere. It was very embarrassing to take him anywhere. He also dug in dumpsters and that is probably worse.

No, not at all. This gives them a small pleasure in life, who am I to judge them. They know smoking is harmful, but they choose the pleasure it gives them. It is not my place to judge. I would not give them smokes since I have none and I would not contribute to their further killing themselves. But, I would not judge them weird or disgusting.

I would not give them smokes. I would not look at them with disgust, but with pitty. I do not smoke therefore I would not have smokes, but I would want to offer them food.
