I currently have OOL but i want simply want faster internet. Now should i get the boost package that they offer with the 30mbs download (i dont need the upload) or should i switch to fios. Also i am not going to run a server or anything with the new OOl package. Are they going to monitor more or anything special towards my account if i get the new package? All answers greatly appreciated.

To tell you the truth, there is no difference between the two in terms of speed. With FIOS, the 20 mbps speed download is the maximum download speed you can reach, but it would never go there. I have OOL, and according to the tests, I can reach 14 mbps. However, downloading from websites and other things rarely reach that speed. Plus Verizon doesn't have as good customer service as cablevision, and verizon would cost more because of surcharges they always seem to put on the bills. To tell you the truth, OOL is fiber optic, they just change it to RF coax at the node in front of your house. There really isn't a difference in speed, and if there is, it would be unnoticeable. Verizon's customer service if you research online, isn't that great.

FIOS is good simply because the cable service that comes with FIOS is excellent. I like the three movie channels that show the classics. As far as internet service it's faster than DSL. And faster than Optimum. Yet faster in terms of nanoseconds. The days of 56K modems are long gone. Yet in a nanosecond race, FIOS is the fastest on the block.
